For this project, we were tasked with selecting a public space, either from our hometowns or from the Greater Lafayette area, for which we would complete a brand overhaul. I chose Purdue's Asian American and Asian Cultural Center (AAARCC). Throughout my time at Purdue, the AAARCC has become a home-like space for me with amazing people and resources which creates a community that helps me connect to my culture.
The AAARCC hosts a variety of resources and programming to advocate and educate the Purdue community on Asian cultures. They not only bridge the gap between Asian Americans and Asians, but create an understanding of Asian culture within the community as a whole. Through my branding, I wanted to create a fun but professional feel that reflects the AAARCC’s mission. The arch connecting the As represents bringing together Asian Americans and Asians, while the house not only embodies the physical space they currently inhabit, but the home away from home the AAARCC has become for the community.
