For this project, students created an app for an imaginary restaurant they created. Inspired by the Tagalog word for "calm" and similar to Japanese manga cafes, mahinahon features cubby-style areas for customers to relax in. After choosing one, customers can enter their cubby number into the app. This allows them to activate the TV and gaming consoles in their cubby and order food.
Since mahinahon is meant to be a space to relax, I used a "dark mode" style for my app as it is easier on the eyes. The rest of the color palette consists of pastels to further the sense of relaxation. Rounded corners and a simple sans serif font keeps the app clean and prevents it from being overwhelming.
